THERE IS A POWER over human experience that cathedral-builders, great architects, and connoisseurs of fine design all know very well:
When you enter a great space, it can take your breath away. Walk into a great room, where the light is perfect, the eye flows, and the rhythm of everything feels just right—this is where you can do your best work and where you can live your best life. VAGO is a high-end furniture company with a long and celebrated history of creating refined environments with an Italian aesthetic. We are dedicated to creating extraordinary living and working spaces for our clients, using high-quality craftsmanship, a sense of excellent design, and intelligent functionality.
Like many famous Italian fashion and craft brands, VAGO was founded in the early 1920s as a small artisan workshop in Milan. Today, VAGO is a renowned international supplier of the best in fine residential and office furniture from the world’s greatest designers, both past and present.
Our services cover the entire spectrum of interior solutions, from a single piece of original furniture which can be ordered online to entire environments which are conceived, designed, built, and installed anywhere in the world by one company: VAGO.
Our Past
In the early 1920s, three brothers—Carlo, Giulio, and Luca Vago—took their skills as furniture makers and went into business together, opening a small woodworking shop in Barlassina, 21 kilometers from Milan. Their finesse, design sense, and extraordinary customer satisfaction kept the shop growing, adding space, employees, and new lines of business.
Always a family-led company, VAGO experienced steady growth over its first decades, and then achieved explosive growth once Antonio Vago took over in 1956. Today, VAGO is reaching new markets all over the world under brothers Davide and Simone Vago, always with the same finesse, design sense, and extraordinary care of the customer we learned from our grandfathers.
Our Present
Every day, the people who come to work at VAGO strive to make beautiful things happen. It is our Italian craftworker version of ‘kaizen,’ the Japanese manufacturing concept of ‘continuous improvement.’ We do not have an Italian word for it; it is just this thing we do.
The practice is obvious when you watch our woodworkers shaping a piece of furniture, but it is also there when we source a hard-to-find light fixture, or arrange a delivery that is most convenient for a customer and her neighbors, or bring new elegance to an office tower from the reception desk to the executive suite.
What will impress you most, however, is when you allow us to bring this kind of beauty into your life. Through our partnership with Karen Brink, internet entrepreneur and fine art dealer, we have modernized all aspects of communicating with our customers. We are now pleased to offer our century-old tradition of Italian artisanship in such a dynamic, convenient manner.
Our Future
Most of our customers today have been our customers for a long time, and we know them very well. They know us, too—what we can do for them, how they will be taken care of, and so, they keep coming back.
Now that you have gotten to know us a little, we hope you will allow us to get to know you as well. If you would like to improve anything at all in your living or working spaces, we are the ones who can help you. That’s one thing we know for sure.
